To JB Weld or Not to JB Weld

Mounting a 1 piece rail on a new Tikka 7mm. The question is to JB Weld bed the rail or over kill?

Put the front screws in and crank them down. Then sorta loose wrist slap the back of the base with your index finger, if you hear metal clanking bed the back of the base. If not, crank the back down and don't worry about it.

I'd be interested in following how you come out. I'd wager that thing is going to be very straight and bedding would be unnecessary.

Probably not needed on a tikka but I would highly recommend on a 2 point contact action like rem 700, howa 1500, etc. Both rifles I have rails bedded on are .25 MOA rifles FWIW

Yes, I know. I use locktight to bed the scope base....
