I just got one and had a question about the vac/seal/cooling times. I set it to the times suggested in the manual and it seems to work fine with the bags that came with it. My question is when would I need to adjust those times?

Thanks, Brad

I've had mine for a couple years and have never touched the settings and it's worked great for 3 and 4 mil bags.

My factory settings are 30 seconds vacuum 1.2 seconds seal and 2 seconds cool.

The thing is amazing it always seals well compared to my old foodsaver which the seals failed a lot.

My manual says 40/1.2/2. It also says to set the cooling time to double the sealing time to prolong the life of your seal bar. The thing is a beast but works great. Got it for $689 shipped which seems like a pretty good deal.

I've changed settings when I had a large bag and a small piece of meat in the bag. I've also changed settings when I seal sausage links or sandwiches to put in my pack so they don't get crushed during vacuum.

Seal time settings are set so that I have a nice clear seal. If the seal looks cloudy it could fail.
