Hi folks,

I live north of Denver and having not killed a mule deer in my 2 years of living here I was curious for some recommendations for a processor/taxidermist if I succeed this year. I'd love to get top notch work done on a shoulder mount if I'm that lucky. I don't have the space or equipment yet for my own processing either so I'm clueless on where to take meat around here. Any suggestions or tips based on experience would be much abliged.

Also, for those who take their meat to a processor, which do y'all do first? Drop the meat off or the head first?

I use Kim Evans with Echohawk taxidermy. He's out of the Longmont area. I process most of my animals myself but some years I'll drop off part of an elk or mule deer at Arapaho meat company in Erie. They do good work.
