I’ve been keeping an eye on this. I have built a few points and 2022 was looking like my first year for trying WY antelope. Health of the population is way more important than me, but a bummer to hear. I will keep my ears open.

#1, ditch the soda. Enjoying a beer here and there (and not 4+ per evening) at least has some social/personal purpose, soda is just junk sugar that we get used to drinking. After being off it for a while you'll find yourself barely able to choke one down. I used to drink 3 or so cans of coke per...
I think you should kiss him on the mouth for helping you learn that months of pain-staking planning and thousands of dollars just can't beat dumb luck sometimes.
Truck camping is easier IMO. If you know a general area you are going to hunt, you'll start seeing spots along the road where past camps have been. Some of them may not be very obvious on aerials, but you'll be able to spot them more clearly on the ground. That's been my experience at least.
Thanks guys, means a lot. I won't call myself a germiphobe, but I'll kindly tell a coworker to get out of my office if they're in there hacking and sniffling. Several years ago I had something similar happen right before spoonbill snagging season. A coworker got sick in October and for 5 months...
Man, where to start. This trip ended in a way that not once in all of all my planning, prep, etc. did I think about it going like this. But, I felt this thread needed a follow up or conclusion.
I headed out at dark thirty Wednesday morning and drove straight through to my general hunting area...
I think TiGoat's response when I asked was "at least a foot, more is better". I bought 7 foot for my Jimmy Tarp Hudson and kept it for a SO Cimarron. If you look at the pics on the SO website it shows 2 ft or so I'd bet. That seems to be a good number knock on wood. Some will say it will be...
I'll add my 2 cents as someone with more medical training than backcountry success. There's a difference between "first aid" and "trauma" or life-saving equipment and some of that has been mentioned above. I carry Leukotape wrapped around a piece of a straw for hot spots and its many tape uses...
Good stuff guys, I’ve been putting in the work and effort for several months, just shaking off that last minute angst. Ready to get on the road!
Davsco I’ve heard about the rain, be careful up there!
