    All around rifle for female hunter

    I’d go 7-08, or put a brake on a bigger caliber. A 7 mag with a good brake will have less recoil than a light 7-08 if you’re not afraid of the muzzle blast.

    It’s hard to beat the first lite base layers for me. I’m still using the aerowool and it’s holding up well. My girlfriend loved the first lite base layers. We tried a bunch of brands and their fit her best.

    Paper maps for back up

    For backup maps I like the National Geographic maps if they have one that covers the area I need. Most of them are in the 1:50,000 range. They don’t have the entire unit on one map but I keep a couple in the truck and use the one for the area I’m hunting at the time.

    I had the same problem with sweaty feet getting cold or getting blisters once they got wet. A poly liner with a merino sock over it was the ticket for me.
