Kifaru Reckoning- Guide Lid or no?

I have been looking at the Sherman pocket really hard for quick access items instead of the guide lid. Now slightly off topic but for organization I daisy chained 2 stone glacier camp pockets inside my reckoning. It also keeps my gear from settling in a lump in the bottom of my bag for day hunt...

Bob cat coming in close waiting for a turkey

I had a similar situation last year with a coyote. Had a group coming down a draw towards me when I see this coyote creeping up on me. Even when I was waiving my arms at him he kept coming. Unfortunately 15 feet was as close as I was going to let him get. Fortunately I got lucky later that...

    First co elk hunt

Leaving for my first archery elk hunt in 2 weeks in gmu 65. I was wondering how the drought has effected availability of water. The map shows lots of streams but like here in CA with such little snow it's all dry. Any info greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    2018 first archery Elk hunt

Are there any books I should pick up on behavior or tactics since living in California gives no opportunity to scout and observe behavior in person. I am also considering the university of elk hunting on elk 101 seems like a good source of info. Any thoughts are appreciated.
