Thoughts on Athlon Talos Spotting Scope. 20-60x80.

I would agree with that tip, alot of open ground to hunt up that direction and alot of antelope opportunity too. I would suggest having an antelope archery tag in your pocket as well.

50% Decline in Eagle County Colorado's Elk Population Since 2007

Seems like a vaguely similar issue we had in western SD not so long ago. The Black Hills deer and elk herds were losing numbers for years until it became a catastrophic issue with the elk herd. Mountain lions had moved back into the hills and our wildlife agency buried it's head in the sand...

    Load for antelope - 7mm-08

The 7MM08 in any of your bullet choices will be great speed goat medicine. I do not see much of a need to spend more than necessary on bullets for antelope as they are very thin skinned and easy to take, I would look into the gamekings or interlocks over varget, 4350, or RL 17 and put in a good...

    Cabela’s Krotos 20-60x85???

I love my 65 Krotos, if the 85 is manageable in size I would assume the glass is well worth the ebay purchase price.

What is it looking like as far as fire and drought near the Springs? My annual CO trek takes me that direction.

    Where is everyone going???

Hunting tribal lands is an operation specific to each tribe, they each set their own game codes and run licensing differently. As a non-Indian many tribes require you to hire a tribal guide but some do not, it just depends and requires research and contacting their wildlife management agencies...

    Kowa TSN-553 spotting scope review

Apart from the tunnel vision effect you mention above, how has the vanguard endeavor 65 spotter treated you? I am in the market for a lower priced spotter and that setup with a tripod for $399 seems to be quite the package.

    Cabelas Krotos Spotting scope

Looks like I won't be getting the one I ordered; after logging into my cabelas account and checking on the order it looks like they do not have any available to ship from the warehouse and are no longer to be listed for sale on the site. It was worth the shot at $210 in the bargain cave.

    Cabelas Krotos Spotting scope

Situational Awareness on the Krotos. I just checked the Cabelas bargain cave online this morning and saw the 20-60-86 straight model is on sale for $210.88........down from original price of 1200. I used a gift card and some points to pay a grand total of $110. Hopefully this glass is worth the...

CO 1st season and hiker traffic

I hunt a unit on the Front Range each year during 1st Rifle, I have yet to see a hiker on the mountain with me and I am able to watch the cars drive by on I-25 with my spotter. Hikers are out there but if you go where there aren't cleared trails you will avoid them altogether. And there are elk...
