I had that happen to me on an elk hunt in Salmon. Snowed 15-20in and was -12 when we woke up to hunt. It made climbing and camping pretty tough. Worst part was sweating from the climbing and then my gloves would freeze stiff from the sweat. Rethinking my glove selection for this very reason...
Don't take a 223. I hog hunt in Texas and that won't take down many wild pigs unless you hit them in the head. Alaskan animals are even more hearty and will kill you, or you will wound one and not be able to find it.

I would guess it is the Northface one too. I have it in a different color. It is comfortable, but nothing special.
I did the hunt last year and will be going back again. Should be fun. We drew a shit unit last year and did not have any goats. I like our unit for this year, but will be towards the end of the hunt.
Thanks for the info.... everyone that owns a Sig likes it. Same goes for Leica and G7 owners. For hunting the G7 and Sig2400ABS are the obvious choice for quick ballistics without having to use multiple items.
Hey guys I am looking for a Ballistic Rangefinder for hunting and PRS. I assume one with storable profiles and applied ballistics would be the best bet. I will use with multiple guns and calibers. What do you recommend? I already have a great set of Binos but if the best one is in a binocular...
I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I have seen a few rifles on the shelf with one but no aftermarket hydrodipping. I’ll have to call the Utah one as well.
