WTB WTB Hill People Gear Shepherd Stove

I've been on the "wait list" since March 2016. At this point I am just hoping they sell the design to someone who will actually produce it.

Duffel bag large enough for pack frame and other items

I've lived out of a Mystery Ranch Flight Monster for the past two fire seasons. Dimensions are a bit smaller than you are suggesting; but I have no problem fitting my entire sleep system, ppe, dopp kit, 2 weeks worth of work clothes, and some r&r clothes inside. Likely a bit overbuilt for your...

What does a poor guy wear to hunt the mountains?

Don't rule out Goodwill. Especially being that your in Colorado, I would expect that over time you could find a fairly complete (albeit mismatched and non camo) clothing system for around $100 that would rival or beat any of the top hunting clothing manufacturers.

It's packed out one deer and one elk with it. Likely has around 30 days hunting altogether. I've also used the beavertail to haul sandbags for weight training. Has more use than it shows. Still looks pretty new. Looks like it will have a long shelf life. I will post up pictures later tonight...

    cimarron stove pipe length

Cimmaron; and yes your right the tent alone is likely closer to 400. I paid 466 for mine when they were first released. Thanks for keeping me on my toes. Don't want to be misleading. Prior post edited.

    cimarron stove pipe length

~40mph is the most I've had to deal with and it wasn't a problem. It does take a bit more to get set up than a 6'er. More cable rings to slip on, and you have to hold your mouth right to get it fed through the stove boot with that much extra pipe fumbling around. Still, for only a 3-4 oz weight...

    cimarron stove pipe length

I am using an 8' pipe from Titanium Goat. It looks ridiculous being that tall, but I like the added insurance it provides. The added separation allows remaining embers to either be carried away, or time to cool before falling back on to the tent. Along with the 8' of pipe, I'm also using a...

    2017 Shot Show!

Interested in hearing an update on the Hill People Gear Titanium Shepherd Stove. I really thought this design would be perfect, but after being wait listed for over a year and hearing delay after delay, I'm starting to sour on the idea. If someone could get their hands on one I'd love to hear...

    Ti Stove Cleaning

Thanks again for the advise gentlemen. I went ahead and burned it as hot as I could get it with some quality wood in the backyard. Results were good. Managed to get it glowing red almost the entire length of the pipe. After cooling, I unrolled it, shook it and bent it in every possible...

    Ti Stove Cleaning

Thanks for all the advice gentlemen. Typically, I use Larch limbs as my kindling and Douglas Fir as my main heat source. Although I have had to resort to using Alpine Fir on a few occasions. I've never experienced buildup to this level before. As mentioned previously, I've been less selective...

    Ti Stove Cleaning

Thanks Shrek. I had not considered the posibility of oven cleaner being too corrosive. I have already tried a citrus based degreaser. Results were less than impressive; but then, it's one of those "green" cleaning agents that rarely work on anything.

    Ti Stove Cleaning

This spring I've been less selective of the wood that I burn in my Ti-Goat stove, and now I'm paying the price. I have developed a fairly thick layer of creosote that is in the "tar" stage throughout the entire length of the pipe, and to a lesser degree coating the inside of the stove body...

    WA State Reintroduction

They have been. In 2011, 100 pronghorn were released on the Yakima Reservation between Goldendale/Yakima. Their numbers are growing, albeit slower than I would like to see, and they have been spotted as far east as the Tri-Cities.

    Merino Glove Lifespan?

Smartwool = 5+ years and still going strong. No rips, holes, or tears. FirstLite = Less than 1 season before multiple holes and tears made them undesirable. It should be noted that I only use these as liners for late season. I have not used either as a stand alone or outer layer.
