    East Frank church Elk

Reading these post sounds exactly like my experience in 2018. Spent 3 days in the Bitterroot wilderness and 2 in the Frank. Hiked over 33 miles in those 5 days and saw 2 whitetail doe, and zero other hunters. There are elk there.. saw some sign. Beautiful but extremely steep country. But if...

    Idaho Selway

It is a beautiful place no doubt. My trip in 2018 was more of a scouting trip than anything. I actually found fresh sign at the first place I hunted. Fresh tracks on the trail going in. Problem was, they were going in the opposite direction headed out. I still want to go back and hunt that...

    Idaho Selway

Sounds like our 2018 experience exactly. 33 miles in 4 days and saw 2 whitetail doe. But the Selway tag sells out almost over night now. I don't get it.

    Idaho-Unit 39, 27, 20, 20a

I hunted unit 17 , Selway this year and I'm starting to gather info for other units for next year. 20a was one that I was looking at, but it looks to me like there is very little or no road access in the unit. Can you confirm that, and if so , do you know of any Packers that go into this unit??

    Idaho’s Selway-Bitterroot Early Rifle

That's what I was thinking also. I'm keeping my options open and starting research. Colorado is possible, so is Montana or Wyoming. Possibly another zone in Idaho. I loved it there but not enough critters. Anyone in that area with a little extra time on their hands to just hike, I would...

    Idaho’s Selway-Bitterroot Early Rifle

Too far to go back again this year. Beautiful place, but most places are just too hard to hunt. May do a drop camp next time. Any recommendations? I'd like to be able to get deep without spending so much time and Entergy.

    Idaho’s Selway-Bitterroot Early Rifle

Headed home after 5 days of hunting. I can see some people's thinking of how crowded some areas are. Not a lot of trail heads for such a large area, but to be honest, about 90 percent of the areas are just not practical or just outright impossible to hunt. There were areas I thought might hold...

    Idaho’s Selway-Bitterroot Early Rifle

Do you get a deer tag? Or strictly after a bull? I've been tossing that idea around. I like the idea of having the tag just in case that monster muley or bear shows up.. but I also don't want to waist time stalking those animals since im only going to have 5 days to hunt.

    Idaho’s Selway-Bitterroot Early Rifle

How deep do you plan on going in on foot? Me and my girlfriend will head that way next Friday. Plan is to hunt from Monday thru Saturday. We are prepared to remote camp anywhere from 3 to 5 miles in, but may hunt a little farther. Have several drains picked out. Do you think it's better to stick...

    Louisiana Hunting

I assume you're up on the seasons as well. Louisiana has an early primitive weapons season, with very relaxed rules for weapons. I bought a single shot 45-70 just for this. The recommendation on the boot and thermocell are must have items as well. And yes you can't be afraid of snakes and hunt...

    Louisiana Hunting

If you are looking for a trophy the Eastern wma's are the best. But the same tactics apply. Find the acorns. One little secret is if you can find a persimon tree dropping, that is like a candy shop to a child!

What do you use for a Bino Harness?

Rick Young. Lightest and most versatile.

    Texas Roksliders

Hunted there in 98. Dec. Archery hunt. they will likely give you a compartment to hunt, which will have a few tower stands in it. They may take you too and from since it's a youth hunt. Probably going to be an early season hunt as well. The deer density is not that high but there are some Giants...
