I'm positive that this is not accurate. There are thousands of land-locked acres on NF and BLM in CO with zero legal access other than aircraft. 5MB - do you have any source or reference to prove your claim?

CO legality question

I don't think there would be a problem. In a lot of areas near unit boundaries the TH or parking areas may be in the adjoining unit. If it made the pack out easier I wouldn't hesitate to cross into another unit. Obviously a game warden knows the proximity of unit boundaries and it is not...

Core 4 Element??? Good or bad??

Same here, I have two pairs of the switchback pants for three years and they are low quality in my opinion. They were pretty good the first couple of trips for the first season but then the pockets came unstitched, the material worn holes in the knees and on the back and the water restraint...

Bosque Del Oso Archery

I haven't hunted it but I have spoken to friends that have hunted bear and elk there. My buddy killed a bear the first day with a rifle. The only problem that I see with your plan is that I would bet that that OTC with caps tags for Bosque Del Oso sells out within the first 2 minutes or less...

Colorado Beetle Kill

You are correct there is alot more feed on the ground in the beetle killed stands of timber. In the areas that I hunt this makes the hunting way harder because the deer and elk aren't coming out into the open parks and meadows to feed anymore and you can't effectively glass into the beetle...

I made this for dinner tonight and all i can say is THANK YOU for the awesome recipe!!! Threw it all in the crockpot on my out the door for work and BAM delicous fricken dinner when I walked back in.

Flattops Colorado First Rifle

We hunted the northern flattops around 9000 ft. Only my second year up there but weather wise it seems like a normal year for that area and Colorado in general. Last year it dumped snow even more than this year during first season. We filled 4 out of 7 tags on opening morning. We should have...

Using a riflescope as binos?

I don't see how anyone could justify intentionally pointing a deadly weapon at another person for trespassing. Sounds like a great way to get thrown in jail. I mean they are in the wrong for trespassing but unless they pose some sort of threat you can't just go around pointing guns at people...

Paypal policy question

Hmmm I don't understand why the buyer would start a thread looking for justification to not pay the $15. It seems cut and dry to me, seller clearly asked for pp gift and the buyer didn't follow through with it. Seems incredibility petty to not just work this out between the two of you over $15...

Smallest elk rifle

Im a big fan of the 25-06 with a 120 grain bullet. At first I was hestitant to take a 25 caliber elk hunting but after seeing 3 bull elk get dropped (furthest recovery was less than 15 yards after the shot), Im a believer now. Granted all 3 bulls were shot at less than 100 yards in the boiler...

Some units are definately better than others but I think every unit is/can be worth hunting if you put in the time to scout or put in the effort to get access to private. A really good tactic that I use all the time is to analysis the statistics and trends to find the good hunts/units that...

Not sure I follow. All leftover tags were in the prior draw available 2nd choice, then available 3rd choice, then available 4th choice, then available in the leftover draw before they become leftovers tags. So actually all leftover tags could have been be drawn as 2nd choice but not all 2nd...

first choice draw means its your first pick of a hunt. You definately stand a very good (in some cases guaranteed) chance at drawing a cow tag in draw unit, even a very coveted draw unit because as said earlier the majority of hunters put in for bull tags or either sex as a first choice and cow...

There are tons of units in Colorado that this is possible. There are units and hunts that have leftover tags where that you can kill a bull every year on public land. There is a leftover unit that me and my brother and hunting party have killed 7 bulls out of 9 bull tags in the last two...

Why did you decide OTC? You would generally be better off (less pressure and better chance of killing) in a draw area. If you dont already have any points for any state then you really dont have anything to lose by doing a first choice draw for a cow tag in a good/great area. My advise would...
