    Camping in a Softopper

You're not messing around!!! I like the setup. I had not really thought about building out that much but it makes sense to me. I think I may just build a locking bed platform that I can secure to the tie down connections.

    Camping in a Softopper

That's a good idea on the lock box. I don't quite want to commit to the decked system but would like to lock up an item or two. Hey Wolverine, could you send me a photo of the box you built so I can get an idea? Feel free to DM.

    Camping in a Softopper

I appreciate the breakdown! I'm still a bit on the fence but am leaning towards just going with the hardshell since I rarely have a need that requires taking off the shell.

    Fas Top/Softopper/Etc. Experience?

I appreciate the info! Totally makes sense. I’m just right on the fence.

    Deviated Septum

I took a fairly conservative approach in my opinion. It depends on the degree of exercise of course, but I was back to lower cardio activity stuff such as lifting weights after about a two weeks. Probably could have done stuff early to be honest but didn’t want to push it. I also eased back into...

    Camping in a Softopper

Hey guys, I'm curious if anyone has experience camping in a softopper (or equivalent) and would caution me against going that route for any reason. I had an ARE hard shell with carpet lining on my last truck for the last 9 years, so I'm plenty aware of the benefits and drawbacks of a hard shell...

    Truck Topper temps

The only little thing I'd add in is that both my buddies who have dogs have "windoors" on their shells so they can fully open the sides and dump the hot air that builds up in there. Not sure it would be worth retrofitting windoors on your leer though. Seems like you've got it figured out, but...

    Fas Top/Softopper/Etc. Experience?

Do you still have your Fastop and like it? I had an ARE before and am debating getting a Fastop, but I feel like I'll get annoyed with it getting dirty and being tough to clean off and then the windows getting scratched and clowdy. I'm also in AZ where the sun can break things down fairly...

    Deviated Septum

I had what doctors considered a severely deviated septum with about a 98% blockage on my left side for most my life. Decided to catch a soda can with my face when I was really young and then it grew crooked. Had surgery at 19 years old that didn't fix anything (after a semi-rough recovery). Then...

Ford 5.0L V8 vs EcoBoost: High mileage experience?

If you haven't found them already, there's a couple well qualified mechanics who have done some fairly in-depth reviews of these two engine on YouTube. I think one guy is a Ford mechanic and the other guys runs a semi repair some and does "heavy mechanical" reviews for engines. If I recall...

Anyone regret going from 3500/2500 series to a 1500 series?

I think so long as you don't get another toy hauler or something else larger to tow, you'll be happy with the 1500. I've had two F150s, both with crew cabs and 6.5 beds. They're about the same size my buddies' Ram 2500 and F250. Having a smaller and lighter truck will make it easier to get...
