The Kifaru 14'r is a fantastic pack; I actually wrote the review posted earlier.
As others stated, you certainly *can* haul a load of meat in the 14'r, and I actually packed a roadkilled Mule Deer out, but 60-70lbs is getting a little beyond where the 14'r is going to be comfortable. If...
Havalon for skinning/deboning.
Maybe it has something to do with watching First Blood/Rambo as a kid, but it took me a long time to accept the fact that I just don't use a knife all that often and so I stopped carrying a sheath knife as it wasn't worth the weight. At times I'll carry a Mora...
Not really "elk specific", but I consider my Bahco Laplander saw a must-have.
Inexpensive (around 20 bucks), lightweight, and works fantastic on anything and everything I've tried to cut.
Hi Garrett -
This is Mick; after being a long (LONG) time Kifaru fanboi, I actually started working here a couple of weeks ago.
Of course, you're more than welcome to give us a call or (if you're local) come into the store in Wheat Ridge and we can get you squared away, but we'll see if we can...
Yep. All part of the fun!!!
BTW - Nothing personal against you LBFowler; no real offense was meant. I didn't want the thread to derail too much and I just couldn't resist the dig by posting the cheap pack. Hopefully it came across as "funny snarky" instead of "angry internet guy snarky."...
If I offended anyone, please focus your wrath on me and not Kifaru.
Yeah, I was admitedly a little snarky but I didn't take the pictures and create this thread to compare other packs - it is about the 14'er.
In my experience, I don't take a solar panel without a battery pack. Trying to charge a cell phone, iPad, whatever, directly from the the solar panel doesn't really work long term.
So, I clip the solar panel to my pack and charge the battery pack during the day and then use the battery pack to...
Nope; I wish I could help, up I'm not even familiar with the "TarryAll."
Regarding questions about comparison to other packs and/or manufacturers such as -
I'm honestly not sure how to answer them. And, in a lot of cases I simply don't know if it is even fair/correct to accurately refer to a...
New backpack from Kifaru - The 14'r!!!
Disclaimer: I don't work for Kifaru, but I was given the pack in a kind of "pictures for pack" deal. Aron has seen me over the years more than once while out hiking, at Whole Foods (He's always buying peanut butter bars) and before I knew who he was I...
