Gents, had a recent cell phone disaster and lost all my contacts. Can anyone recommend a pack out service for unit 4, north of Craig??? I think the guy we used before was named Dave, but I’m not positive. Goin in solo so I need a Plan B and C for getting meat off the mntn. Appreciate it!!
Cabelas Whitetail Extreme line is legit for stand hunting. Bibs are like wearing a sleeping bag. Up top, for range of movement and quietness, I wear the hooded Berber fleece pullover with the Windshear. With some quality merino wool base layers, all day sits in sub zero temps are child's play.
WVELK, don't be afraid of public land in Iowa. I'm not familiar with unit 8 but in 4 and 5, some of the biggest bucks I've seen, killed and alive, came off public. Public in Iowa can have huge timber tracts not found on private farms, and the public is farmed just like private. Beans, corn, etc...
Lone Wolf McQuade this Sept. All my buddies hunt, but lack the commitment level it takes to pull off real backpack hunts. Be in Craig the 19th if anyone wants a free beer.
Anyone know a jeweler or silversmith with experience doing something with bear claws?? Anyone have any pics of theirs?? Wanna get a couple made for family. Thx, Dan.
On my arrival day, I remember ordering a fruit and yogurt tray to the room and I couldnt finish it it was so big. Coming out of the mntns, I had dinner there. Seafood combo that had the biggest, most delicious shrimp and knig crab legs I ever ate. Now to your point, I was half starved to death...
I stayed at Pike's Waterfront Lodge coming and going. Incredible place, right on the river, best food I ever ate. Like a 100 mounts in the front desk area. Awesome place.
