    Bugle magazine had a story 20 yrs ago on a chipped antler that someone took home in an area with a season date. Was very funny and well ahead of the curve on antler hunting.

    Feedback on backcountry elk loadout

    You have a good list but a lot of weight. My list was right at 50 pds for 3 days. Would do several dry runs to see if you can shave 10 pds. 7 miles packing an elk and that gear is a longgg ways. Good luck lots of time to refine and decide if that distance is appropriate.

    Find places with close topo lines and rest assured you will not find many going up over 1000 ft straight up. Trails and big gapped lines yes more competition, steep and painful you can get away from 99% just have to find those places🤙
