State governor oversight in National Forest?

What are your thoughts on the Kung Flu?

I'm not even talking about the big players as they were moving in that direction already. I'm talking about the local restaurants, RV parks, bed and breakfast, small family owned cabins. Any small business that had any form of debt or didn't have a sizable stash of cash to cover fixed expenses...

What are your thoughts on the Kung Flu?

I predict that we will see a shift in small business ownership within those states that remain closed. Pretty soon they will have an influx of investors from outside the state coming in looking for distressed opportunities. While these governors and local officials believe they are protecting...

State governor oversight in National Forest?

While I wouldn't want to test a sheriff's abitly to enforce a law on federal land, if that law is ultimately deemed as an overstep by the governor, I'd assume any penalties would have to be dropped. I assume that law enforcement is busy enough with real criminals, that enforcement of a stay at...

State governor oversight in National Forest?

While I understand and agree with this statement. For the sake of this thread, I'd like to leave bear season out of this as much as possible. In the Montana example the restriction indicates "outdoor recreation." I'm really just questioning whether or not a governor in the example above...

State governor oversight in National Forest?

That aligns with my thinking, but again, I don't have much legal or political experience. I wonder why no one has challenged this in Montana or how one would even go about challenging it?

State governor oversight in National Forest?

In the above example, Montana allows individuals to travel through the state so that argument wouldn't hold. Locally we have had several instances where the state attorney general has had to step in when county and city officials overstepped their reach. In my simple mind, having a governor...

State governor oversight in National Forest?

With many politicians extending their reach beyond their elected powers, it has me questioning a state governor's ability to impose restrictions on the use of national forests within their states. As an example, the Montana governor is imposing a 14 day quarantine on all non-residents. In...

King of the Mountain Stairmaster Challenge

When I start having issues I leave a lacrosse ball by my bed. Every morning and evening I roll it around under my arch. Hurts like crazy, but has worked for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

2019 Kuiu “inner circle” sale (November)

In the early days the prices were significantly cheaper than Sitka and Firstlite. Now Kuiu’s prices are higher and there are more options out there than just the big three. I am disappointed with limited items currently on sale as well as the discount levels. Sent from my iPhone using...

How long will a bear hit an elk carcass?

I checked on 4 carcasses (3 drainages) for up to 12 days and not a single one was touched by a bear in the unit I was hunting this season. After about 4 days the maggots turned one fairly rank, the others stayed eatable for most of the trip. Glad the tag was only $100. Sent from my iPhone...

South Texas Nilgai Hunt - Public Land

We never had issues running out of drinking water. Put some panniers on your bike for your lunch and water and you should be good for the day. The panniers also help when packing out. Two guys with bikes w/panniers and packs can get one out in a single trip. They are about the size of an elk...

South Texas Nilgai Hunt - Public Land

I’ve hunted the Jan rifle hunt the last two years and scouted an additional trip. I turned back my archery tag last year. Way too many hunters with a deplorable success rate. I’ve used a pair of 10x binos each trip and done just fine. Your bike, more specifically your tires, will play a big...

    Hows Colorado Archery season been?

In the OTC unit I hunted open week, it was packed Friday-Monday am with Colorado residents. By Monday evening the unit cleared out except for a handful of nonresidents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
