    Best credit card for outdoorsmen

Cash only is a great idea, until you need to take out a loan to get a house and don't have any credit history. I have the Cabela's black card. I use it for everything, then pay one bill at the end of the month. I don't carry a balance, so not paying any extra fees or interest charges.

Best Archery Range and shop in Seattle?

Welcome to Seattle. I'll echo some of the comments above, I thought a few of the guys at knock point acted like dicks when I popped in there. A membership at the Kenmore range is worthwhile if you live close by. You get a key to the gate and can shoot mornings and evenings when public hours...

Backpack Hunts-what you wished you brought/ what you should have left

I don't bother with a long spoon, takes two seconds with a knife to trim off the top half of a MH package to be able to access with a normal length spork. One thing that worked well for me last year was to make an insulated pouch of out an insulated Amazon food bag (similar to the stuff they...

    Truck bed security

I second a solid tonneau cover. I have one on my Tundra and I like the "out of site, out of mind" philosophy. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Hauling meat home

I freeze 2L soda bottles and keep in my freezer to help save electricity. I take about 20 of the with me in a homemade cooler. Keeps everything nice and cold if we plan on hunting to fill more tags. I put other food or gear in the cooler to fill the space. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Build your own cooler?

Ideally, the interior would be a food-grade/acceptable plastic material as I'd rather not have the liner leaching who knows what into my meat. My current coffin works well, but is a little too big- the wheel well definitely causes lost space.

What Podcasts are you listening to?

Not to jump on the Gritty Bowmen bash train, but the last few were deleted fairly quickly from my phone.. Lately, I can tell from the description whether this is going to be a stroke-fest for whichever company is being sponsored for that particular episode, ie. the recent episode on Kimber...

    Build your own cooler?

A couple years back, I built a large insulated box to haul quarters in. I just couldn't justify dropping several hundred dollars on a Yeti or equivalent. i used insulation board from Home Depot and built the frame out of 1/4" plywood and 2x2"s. The wife referred to it as the coffin, which...

    What's your favorite lightweight tent??

I've used the Mountainsmith LT the past couple seasons, can't say I'm a big fan. It's cheap, but not easy or quick to set up in my opinion with the unusual shape and number of stakes that were required. The Lunar Solo LE looks very interesting.

    Best storage bins

I like Action Packers. I throw a bungee cord across the top, hooking through the hole on the latches to keep them shut.

    Elk eyesight, decoy question

I've been thinking about using a decoy this year, as I had a couple of bulls that hung up due to lack of visual confirmation (I think). I wonder whether just having the outline of an elk with the right color (out of cardboard or lightweight material) would be sufficient, rather than spending the...

    Gohunt

I used it last year to research GMUs in Idaho. To be honest, I'm a bit of numbers geek and ended up using the primary data from Idaho State rather than GoHunt. I'm not sure I'm going to renew again, as I don't think I'm going to be playing the points games in multiple states.
