This was probably my second shortest hunt since I started hunting moose back in 1989. I found this bull Monday evening, the 5th and put him down Tuesday morning. Saw a huge blonde grizz with chocolate legs but it was too far and too late in the day for a stalk. Seen lots of bulls this year and quite a few legal ones. The bull to cow ratio seems to be pretty good for our hunt area.

I dropped one of those myself last week.

Plenty of bulls, but the heat the first few days of the season kept them hiding in the timber. Got that guy up out of his bed at 25 yds on the 3rd.

Picked up a bonus 'bou too.

I know there are a number of other people on this site out chasing moose in Sept. Hopefully we see a few more pictures like yours.

I've got that same caribou tag but haven't had a chance to try and fill it yet. Probably going to be October before I do. Congrats on the critters YK.

Nice work guys! That bull has wicked long tines!

I'll pile on, here's my first "big" bull (57.5"), solo upriver about 3 hours by boat. I waited a looong time for him to get out of the water and onto solid ground! Sept 9th and I am done for the season! Not sure what to do with myself (besides cut steaks!)

I bet it too a looong time for you to get him into the boat too. :) Wrestling a moose carcass solo is no joke, and your rifle really shows the body size on a big bull in that photo.

It's a Nosler m48 outfitter in 9.3x62. 250gr accubonds put him down hard.

I killed him around 4pm and was back in the boat by 945pm. That was a lot faster than I thought it was going to be! I could get the boat to within 100m but I couldn't carry the quarters that far I had to drag them on a tarp lol!

No kidding. Mine was 57" also, but nowhere near mass of that guy. Absolutely amazing the amount of growth that goes into those antlers in just a few months.
