Had the opportunity to go with two of my best friends for our first backcountry adventure last week. Filled all of our tags in 3 days. Hiked 34 miles, straight up and straight down. We were in 5 miles and had the place to ourselves. Snow on the ground from the weeks before but clean crisp weather while we were there. We had a blast and can’t wait for our next adventure. Thanks for all the info guys. Learning curve was definitely easier with all the great information here. Took this guy on the first day. He was 800 yards away across the gulch. Hiked a mile in a half to take a better look around the drainage. He kept feeding his way up and when he got to 200 yards it was too tempting to shoot what would be my best deer. I’m happy with him and more pleased with the experiences we got to share for a few days. Good luck the rest of the season.
