Idaho Controlled Hunts Archery

I will be out scouting unit 22 for elk this summer. I am considering putting in for the controlled archery hunt. Was hoping someone could fill me in on the deer population. My plan is to hunt the high country if drawn. Pm me if you prefer thanks!

The numbers of mature bucks in that unit is certainly not what it was in the good old days, but the genetics are still there. It's not a very difficult tag to draw. The potential to tag an early season giant if you're already hunting there anyway is worth the application.

Good luck finding a big buck! 4 years ago it was a totally different hunt. Central Idaho got hammered last year and 22 took it the worst.
