Montana HD 380

Moved to Montana last February and just hunted OTC. This year I put in for draws and didn't know a whole lot about where to put in for what. I ended up putting in 380 for my second choice and I got it.

380 is known for its good elk and limited draw for them, not for mule deer. So my question is, has anyone hunted Mule Deer in this HD and if so where is a good area to fill my tag?

Welcome to the forum...

There's some nice mule deer in that area - if it were me, I would start on the western half of the unit - east of Boulder and get up high. Seen some decent bucks on some of the block management and BLM as well... I haven't hunted mule deer there, but i have hunted elk and antelope and seen some nice bucks in the process.

been putting in for area 380 for 15yrs and haven't drawn yet. good for you. I just know there is some good elk in there. better shot with archery before they all move to private ground.
