What’s everyone’s set up this fall?

My pops drew a CO elk mz tag. So he will be taking my TC Omega with 100gr of blackhorn and the 250gr Thor.

For Alberta white-tail I'll be using a .50 cal Traditions Ultralight with a Vortex Diamondback 2-7x33, shooting 250 or 300gr Barnes Expanders with 100gr of Triple 7.

Picked up this MK-85 predator today. Its pretty slick. Prob leave it with no11 primers. Has 3-9x40 AO vari x 2 on it. Guy said it loved 2 pellets and a 240gr in sabot. Im gonna try 100gr of loose with a great plains bullet. Not a big sabot fan

You’ll love it. My wife hunts with one in .54. Crazy accurate with the Great Plains. Knock on wood....... have yet to have a misfire with the caps.

I love me some smoke pole hunting.
Another cool thing I discovered with switching to the xtp setup is TC cheap shots. 240 gr. Solid lead hollow points. More than close enough to sight in a lot cheaper.

Knight mk-85 predator. Leupold vx2 3-9x40. 300gr xtp in green crush rib over 100gr pyrodex. Maybe tote the old tc grey hawk with great plains bullet too. Just using mine for SC deer and hogs this year.

Traditions Vortek LDR Northwest Magnum, modified for 209 Primers, Blackhorn 209 and 270 Federal Copper BOR-Loks for CO Pronghorn. Running a peep sight and front glove with very fine crosshair.

How did you get this to work with 209's? Traditions says they won't, but I would get one in a heartbeat if I could shoot Blackhorn out of it!

I have an antelope tag in NM and CO deer. Running a Knight Ultralite. NM setup will has a Vortex Viper PST and PR Sabots with BH209. CO setup running NECG rear and a Lyman front globe shooting Thors.

I’m running the exact same setup and am quite pleased with the accuracy of those Thors/blackhorn. Only thing I’d like to change at some point is getting a different front sight that doesn’t obscure so much of the target at 100+ yards.

Picked up an accura v2 with the bergera barrel. Shooting open sights for Colorado with 100 grains 777 and Winchester 209 primers with hornady FPB 300s. Shot it for the first time last week. 4 put it in the x at 50. Next 2 at 100 were within 2” of the X off a bench. Good enough for me!

I ended up ending at 110gr of BH for my set up as well, however the 300gr Thors dropped too much with the factory front sight and my Williams peep was maxxed out. I dropped down to the Thor 247's with 110gr of BH and they worked way better in my Pro Hunter.

I want a better selection of front sights for Thompson muzzleloaders

Yes, it does! John Pruitt made that one for my dad. It's a 50 caliber in a Hawken style. The walnut stocks for both guns came out of a tree off our family farm.
