Looking for a decent scope in the $300 range. Doesn't have to be anything special, but I want good like gathering and decent quality.

I would suggest a Redfield Revenge with a Accu-Ranger reticule. I has a built in rudimentary range finder + BDC reticule

The glass is really good and bright!

I think seeing how Leupold has treated me well on my rifles I'll go that route.

Next question is rings and bases? I did my CO elk hunt with it and now I'm gonna keep the gun and scope it for local deer hunting.

It's a CVA. Are the CVA rings good?

I use a Leupold Super Slam 3 - 9 and like it. Its on a TC Triumph and I have had no issues with it. I shoot TC 250 grain bonded core bullets and use 150 grains of 777 pellets.

I have a Zeiss Terra 3-9 on a different rifle (not a Muzz gun) and its going to be replaced with a Leupold. I am not impressed with the Zeiss optical quality and other features. I do recognize that this is a lower end Zeiss but cost wise, its similar to a Leupold VX 3i. Just my $.02.....
