Hi Guys
Just mounting up my Z5 to my Tikka and have used this method How to: Square your Scope - YouTube
seems like a good way to do it.

MY main issue with the Tikkas a 'level' scope always seems a bit off when you look through it.
I have noticed this with a few Tikkas, is the stock just twisted or something?
Or just the way I am holding the rifle?
Action not square on top?

I am leveling the rifle with a bubble then leveling the reticle/cross hairs on a string line, but when I shoulder the rifle the cross seems off to one side?

1)Level with plumb line

2)Shoot a tall target test to verify its square to action

3)Once verified with tall target, install bubble level

This will remove any torque or physiological differences you may experience

so do not worry about leveling the 'rifle' as such when mounting the scope? Just make the scope reticle is level?

No, action should be level but were really trying to square the reticle to the bore
Some actions are tough to square, and some stocks and physiological differences make a square reticle appear canted.
The tall target test is the easiest way to account for a square reticle: bore

A good starting point would be to level the rifle the best you can, plumb the reticle, shoot for confirmation and make adjustments on the range.

Thanks guys.
The action seems 'level' using a bubble, and the reticle is level on a plumb line, but it just looks a bit of to me when I look through it.

Will have to do some dialing on the range and see

Personally, I don’t care if it’s level with the rifle. I want it to be level with me and the way I hold it. I don’t shoot long range while hunting. I only shoot about 300 yards and have never had any problems with doing it this way.
