Been looking to upgrade my range finder from my redfield 550.
Looking to keep the price under 400, currently looking at the sig kilo 2000 and the vortex ranger 1500.
I will be using it for archery and rifle.
For that price range, ability to range ANIMALS out to 700 or so, angle compensation, red display, and good warranty; are there any others I should be considering?
Leupold rx-1200i tbr?
nikon?
Thanks

I like the Leupold 1200. The only reason I have the 1200 is because I had the 1000 and the reticle began to fade after four years. Leupold sent me a brand new 1200 a week after I sent them my 1000.

I own two Leica rangefinders, they're great, but man that Sig is nice! A buddy has one, and the first time I used it, I had immediate rangefinder envy.

Definitely the Sig. I had the Vortex Ranger 1000 and although I liked it, I struggled getting good readings past 400 yards on game and it was SLOW. I have read that the 1500 is better, but my Sig is absolutely perfect.

I also have an older Leica LRF1200scan that has been bullet proof. Just hard to hold and range with one hand which I have found important while archery hunting. The rest of the time, it works well. In fact, I need to get it back from my brother. He borrowed it this past fall and I never got it back. Darn punk!!:)
