How important do you think angle compensation on a rangefinder is for western hunting? I have a Redfield rangefinder that's maybe 2 to 3 years old and I am contemplating on updating this year. In western Kansas it works good enough for rifle and archery hunting, but obviously we are fairly flat compared to most western states. Is it worth paying a little extra for the angle compensation on a new rangefinder?

For me it's worth it. In a lot of situations it's not needed, but when it is you'll wish you had it.

You don't have to be up that high to find yourself on some sort of dropoff where the angles get really steep really fast. Only a 200yd shot (give or take) but at what was probably a 45 degree angle or more.
