Looking for experienced opinions on what to use to make, or what to buy, for a glassing pad for backpack hunts. I'm wanting something lightweight and compact, buy comfy enough to be effective...
Thanks

Landscaping knee board thingy would probably be pretty cheap.

I bought the full size z pad for $30 and cut it in to 3.

This. You can actually find an "irregular" one for closer to $20 and then cut it into 4 sections. Added bonus, if you have one or two with you. You can put them under your pad at night for added protection and probably a little more warmth reflection.

Different one if you don't want the folds.

I'm using half a ridge rest pad right now, but I've used a cheap Cabelas fold up tripod stool for years as well. The stool weighs abou a pound more, but it has some advantages when weight isn't critical. I've also considered getting a crazy creek chair also.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like most are somewhat consistent in the overall thought process. I will come up with something along those lines.
