People ask me what happens to the gear after we review it? Most cases, we just keep using it. I thought I'd reach out to our staff and give us some updates on gear and reviews they've done in past seasons. Here's mine.

I started using the KDC Granite Peak last year, and I've put quite a few days on it this year. Still going strong, no issues, no breakdowns, nothing replaced. I use this tripod when I can run a light optic and really save on the packweight.

Here's the review I did along with Jared's review on the Snipepod:

Here's a video from this week on how fast it is to set up- faster than any tripod I've ever used.

How would this work on very steep hillsides where you need a leg or 2 short?

Very cool idea with the 3L-V2. I've got a V2 snipepod, and though it wouldn't work with my 65mm spotter, I've been trying to justify getting a 50mm razor just to save pack weight. I'll have to try and hustle some gear to come up with the funds. Thanks for the review.

The head has ball sockets for each leg (see lead photo). That allows you to kick any leg out to a very shallow angle to compensate for steep hillsides.
