Is it better to have fewer leg sections? It seems the fewer sections the more stable the tripod would be. I realize more sections would allow it to compact more. Just wondering what you prefer.

My sirui has 5 sections but I only use a few when sitting.

I have a couple of inexpensive lightweight tripods and that are identical except for the length of the leg sections. I like the tripod with the longer leg sections when set up at a low sitting height, as it is indeed more stable than the unit with the shorter leg sections. Hard to quantify exactly how much better, but despite the lesser length and weight, I don't take the shorter legged tripod sheep hunting.
