What camera settings are you guys running for light painting shots?

Not 100% sure what you are talking about... but it sounds like you are looking for a longer exposure shot?

Yes. Typically it is around a campsite or butchering a kill or something like that. The people in the photo move around with headlamps on and the light from the headlamp leaves a light streak on the image from moving around but the rest of the picture is normal

They key factor here is the exposure time (how long the shutter is open, exposing your camera sensor to incoming light).

There's really no way to say "set your camera to X settings and you are good to go", its something you have to play around with to get a feel for and base it on lighting conditions and what you want to do. But, exposure time is the biggest factor here

Google light painting. There are some cool pics people have done.

Thanks I wasn't sure what to google for it and I was sure someone on here knew what I was talking about. Looks like there is some good info on google
