As always if you have a want or need I play Santa Claus all year long. Just mention Rokslide and we will do the very best we can on top of whatever the manufacturers are doing

Picked up a used D5600 with 2930 clicks today on Craigslist. It came with 2 lenses that I already had and previously sold off (Nikon 55-200mm VR AF-S f/4-5.6G ED, Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR). Will end up selling these along with my D5000 to help cover the cost of the upgrade.

I am in a hurry to test it out and see the improvement going from a 2009 to a 2017 DSLR.

I’m in the same boat- planning on upgrading from D5000 to a newer system. Interested in what your thoughts and experience are on upgrading.

I enjoyed learning on the D5000 and my wife still has this camera. I really like my D5600. I have been taking mostly wildlife shots of birds at longer distances with the g1 version of the Tamron 150-600 lens. I like the combo but one thing I discovered one guy on a birds FB group that I belong to was getting great shots with the same lens and different body. He explained that he fine tuned the lens to the camera body. I tried to do this but found it was not an available feature in the 5000 series.

I was kind of disappointed but got over it. I am still working on my photography trying to find the best light, shooting with a decent background, finding good compositions and having fun.

If I keep going with the hobby I might end up saving up for the D7500 or go all the way to the D500. I like crop sensors because of wildlife photography but my brother in law has the D750 and that is a great camera (he likes landscape photography).

Here is an Owl I found today.

Not a flashy or up to date camera bag, but gets the job done!
