phone scope adapter, i need advice

i need advice on this. i have a 5s phone and going to get a phone scope with the adapter that goes over the life proof case or the otterbox defender case. How do the work for going over a phone case? I don't the exact otter box case but a generic case and wondering if you think that would work? Or is the best thing to do is just get the phone scope that just slides over the i phone 5s with out the case?

Buy the one that goes over the case. I use the lifeproof specific phone Skope for the 5S.

The last thing you want to be doing in the field is taking your phone out of the case or leaving it unprotected.
