Looking for decent 4-5K cu. sturdy pack that is not too expensive. I'm not a gear head but do want something that will pack me in and an elk out. Thanks

Kifaru or exo would be good choices for your purpose and moderate weight in themselves. Horn hunter and eberlestock are a good bit heavier of all packs.

If you're looking for inexpensive, the two Eberlestocks mentioned on here would be a good choice. I've used both the J34 & Blue Widow in years past. If you wanna step up a little I've got a like new Kifaru emr2 I can save you a bunch of $$$ on.

He mentioned inexpensive; not lightweight.

I know he did but he likely isn't aware of the weight differences in the packs Either. 4-5# difference in a pack is a good bit imo. So rather than trying to sell Him a pack I offer him Advice.
