Originally from Wisconsin. I'm married with 2 daughters and will be stuck in GA for some time, though I've spent 120 days or so in western back-country and would move to Montana tomorrow if it wasn't for family. I found this forum as I'm planning my first Utah Elk hunt (rifle) next year. My saving grace is that I work for a major airline, so flights are free and cargo is cheap! I also would rather spend a week roughing it in the woods and pack a deer out than shoot one in my back yard, looks like that's normal around here though.

Welcome AJ. Are you cashing points in for your utah elk hunt or planning a general hunt?

Thinking general because there are so many any bull general units, I could be persuaded otherwise though.

Most general season elk units are spike only. Most limited entry require incredible luck or years and years of saved up points. They do have some general season any bull units but success rates are pretty low. Good luck in your choice

I was looking at this list - I would be content with 20% odds of success. Have you hunted any of these units?
