Hey everyone it looks like I'll be an FNG again!
Only this time it'll be in Dillon, MT as I just landed a job there.
I'll start the end of May and move the family a little while after that when we close on a house.
The whole family is excited about the new opportunities and we will surely spend as much time as possible on the water and in the woods.

Anyone else here from the Dillon area?

I don’t live in Dillon but I absolutely love the area! Tons of recreation, hunting opportunities, and public land

Poindexter Slough used to be a great little fishery. It’s been almost 30 year since I fished it though so things may have changed.

What a place to live for an outdoorsman. Hopefully you and your family make a ton of great memories.

Cant think of a much better place to live as an elk hunter. Basically can point your pick up in any direction and hit a different mtn range with a healthy population. Super cheap cost of living compared to the rest of the state. What's the new job?

You will Love Dillon. I wasn’t here 30 years ago, but the fishing is great in the slough and surround area. We have lived here for almost 3 years now and like it a lot. Shoot me a PM if you like.

Fishing is still good. The biologist was saying 3000 fish per mile in the beaverhead.

It's great to hear so many positive comments on a place! The family is excited for all the adventures to come.
I may be reaching out to a few of you when I get up there if you don't mind helping a new guy get off in the right direction.

Troutbum, do you realize most of the outfit you're wearing in the pictures is back in style?

Dillon kicks ass. I live in Helena but have some property about 15 miles northeast of Dillon and spend a ton of time down there.

I'd move there in a heartbeat if my job allowed me to leave.

Congrats on the move, I'm betting you and your family will really like that area and community.

Cheers!
