vehicle prices are one that comes to mind. What guys are asking for a 90s truck with 250k miles is insane. New diesel pickups going for 100k, no thanks. I’ll keep my pre emissions diesel
I run kenetrek mountain extremes and schnees beartooths, both 0g insulation. Been great for this corner of the state. I prefer full leather and uninsulated during archery. Be prepared for rain / dew. The brush will soak you quick
From the wolf trappers I talked to this winter, it was a slim season with the weather and shortened trapping dates here in Montana. It’s just great that a judge can dictate season length 🙄 Thankfully we’ve got organizations like F4WM
Been talking to a gunsmith about cutting and threading the ph2. After seeing rileybassman’s rifle above, going to do it. 26” barrel and a can is loooong
Getting ready to sell my 96’ Tacoma. Going to go with the 5.7 DC tundra. Use it for work 90% of the time besides the heavy trailer loads, and then for hunting. Seems like most guys are happy with power and reliability of the 5.7, as well as drive ability on forest service roads. For the guys...
Used to get the post season blues, but picked up enough outdoor hobbies to keep me in the woods year round. I now get more excited for the winter season and running the dogs than I do for archery elk. Never thought I’d have something top archery elk, but here I am
I was in the same predicament as yourself. Join the military or go guiding. Went the military route. I don’t regret it, now work in the trades and joined the reserves after being active duty. Take the days off I want for hunting, but still have a decent benefit package from my one weekend a month.
Wasn’t too happy with my m5 pants. Got soaked last year on a morning hunt. Contacted SG, they sent me a new pair free of charge. Took them out this fall, rained all day. Killed an elk, once again sucked to be soaked from the waist down. I’ll try treating them, if they leak again I’ll look to a...
I’ve had the krux frame 10 years now. Been a fantastic frame. Have three bags, can’t remember the name of the small one with the spotting scope pocket, the solo and 7400. Solo is great, for day trips and a night or two for me
