Idaho OTC tag purchase experience
Wow. Incredible how things have changed so quickly. In 2016 I picked up an Idaho general tag at a grocery store middle of October and went hunting… and actually saw bucks. Handfuls of bucks each day. Can’t believe how far it’s fallen and how much the demand keeps turning up. -

I passed on the general this year. A few days ago I ran around in one of the units mentioned here. There was cold and some snow. Spent a day down low and turned up a couple handfuls of does and a spike x 2. I’de rather eat a tag somewhere else than be stuck in one unit looking for a mature buck... -

Proposed Deer plan for Central Idaho(not official)
I hunt Idaho and Colorado regularly. I run into a Colorado game warden Atleast once per hunt season. It’s not unusual to be checked 2-3 times a year if I have multiple tags. I’ve had 10 Idaho tags since 2012. I’ve yet to even see a game warden or their truck. Do they exist? I’m sure more... -

Sending to the dumpster
I haven’t hunted it because I haven’t been able to draw it. But if it were my tag Ide hunt it as early as possible and try and jump shoot one out of his hole before they get shot by some rando out of a truck later in the season. 3rd week of November should be busy. -

Are the books worth it?
What are the cost of the books, 20-30 bucks? Decades of deer hunting experience all right there prepared for you for dirt cheap. One scouting trip will cost you more in gas alone. -
