Don’t overthink it, just about any modern controlled expansion bullet these days will do the job. Just find the one that you’re gun shoots the best.
Personally, my gun shoots the 165 Partitions the best so far and I’ve killed 2 goats with that.
I’d also suggest saving your money for a guided hunt. You may likely pay as much in lottery game by time you draw than you would have to just save the money for a guided hunt.
Goats are awesome and I wish you luck!
Hunting from the boat means you’ll likely be alder busting at some point, so you’ll want the heaviest duty rain gear you have. What you have will likely be just fine. As the others have said the HH Gear works great and is pretty inexpensive compared to the high end stuff.
You’ll ultimately need to decide where you’ll be put in at. Sounds as though you already have a few areas in mind, you’ll be able to talk with you’re transporter/ pilot before you fly out and they’ll be able to tell you where other hunters have or haven’t been and what kind of luck they’ve had...
I have a Tikka T3 Lite in .300wsm and only shoot factory ammo. It's a great gun, but if I were to do it over I'd buy the WM. I tend to find more options for the WM over the WSM in factory ammo.
Looking to upgrade the scope on my Tikka .300wsm and I'm looking for some guidance on scopes. I'm currently using a vortex Diamondback HP scope with a BDC reticle and like it but I would like to eventually get to a point to where I can reliably and confidently take game out to 500 maybe 600yds...
I'd go with the Barney's bag. I took my EXO 5500 on a 10 day Sheep hunt with a buddy 2 yrs ago and we each harvested a ram. With a whole ram + half the camp in my EXO, she was maxed out and not comfortable.
I threw on my buddies Barneys frame with his ram and camp, and it handled the load way...
About the only thing I feel going against me is my surgery date, Friday the 13th.
Fortunately I get time to workout at work everyday, so right now my main focus has been on strengthening my core and increasing my fairly poor hamstring flexibility. I plan to keep doing much of the same after...
I certainly don't wanna push it too much after I have surgery. My back is really important to my line of work and most importantly to playing with my boy as he grows up. Hunting comes after all that.
I've been dealing with this for over a year now and have tried all the conservative measures with no avail. Thankfully though short of a few flare ups, I'm not in debilitating pain and I'm still in pretty young and in good shape.
My surgeons assistant may have given me the best advice, and...
