Anyone been bit by a rattlesnake in back country?

I found a bunch of timbers last year. Only 2 this year, one baby hunting on my porch and my little pit bull puppy found what I believed to be a gravid female while he was stashing his deer antler behind the wood pile. I relocate them about 100 yards away up the hill. The gravid female was...

    Sony users - Tamron?

I took this photo with the Tamron 28-75 lens zoomed to 75mm as close as the lens would focus about 6". I wanted better pictures but I also wanted my hands more that 10" away once I pulled the snake out from under the log so I went back to the Polaris and switched to the Tamron 150-500. These...

    Help me out

Towards the end of my Iowa tenure I found killing my mature target bucks to be ridiculously simple. So much so that I sold the place to find more challenge and that is when I had my ass handed to me by elk in a 3% success unit, 0 elk in 3 years. I was 1 for 2 on Mule deer. G

How many here own hunting property?

After owning 80 acres in Iowa for ten years I sold and tried the Colorado thing. I did well in Colorado but it was more of a two year vacation. Now I'm back in the woods in northern Kentucky on 164 acres. My 1 nearest neighbor is a mile away and we get along great. If habitat and whitetails are...
