Good info. Thanks guys. Got a good deal on a 30 degree EE quilt. Would have rather ed the 20 degree but I can up grade to that next year if needed. Be leaving on the 2nd for an 8 day goat/sheep hunt and wondering if this will be warm enough. I have good baselayer if needed. If it looks like it...
Would placing one of those silver emergency blankets under you sleeping pad increase your warmth? Me and a buddy were talking about this other day. Anyone try it before?
Cheers
I called it Ramen as I think that is the primary name in the US. In BC its called Mr. Noodles but same idea I think.. Probably not the healthiest choice I'm sure. Ive broken them up and placed in a ziplock bag added half a pouch of Knorr Cream of vegetable then P nuts and Olive oil. Just add the...
Hey folks, Ill be making my own meals for my upcoming Sheep/Goat hunt in Sept. Ramen noodles re hydrate pretty easily but looking at some other options. I want to just add hot water instead of "cooking time". Ill be dehydrating venison/spag sauce and vegetables as well. Just curious what others...

I had the BA Fly Creek UL2 but sold it for something with more vestibule space and a bit more skookum (tarptent stratospire 1). The big agnes is nice and light but for the trip your doing I'm not sure I would trust it in really bad weather. I have a 3 man sierra designs that is just under 6lbs...
The reason I find it snug is that i sleep on my side/front and want to my knee kicked out (be like the Recovery position for first aid I guess). doesnt matter what brand it is, me and mummy bags dont get along. what didnt you like with the quilts? Have yet to try them although I use my MB as one...
I have a Mont Bell Down Hugger 20 degree but looking for something not as snug. So started looking at WM Terralite but they are pricey I then heard about quilts so then started looking at the Enlightened Equipment Revelation. I sleep warm and am a side sleeper so I find most mummy type bags are...
I use the timberline 1. Think it's 7400 plus whatever the guide lid is. You aren't giving yourself much room for the meat/hide/head. I guess it all depends how full it is going in.
