This came up in another thread, but wanted to start a new one for easier reference. Might be useful for people as the start looking at builds and how many inches a silencer adds.
My take away is that if you are getting a L (9") can, it probably doesn't matter either way.
If you are getting a S...
There is a lower court ruling, but it is on pause at the appellate level until the supreme court hears another case where a guy with a DV restraining order was charged with possession of a weapon. Guess they are waiting to see what, if any, limits the SC places on denying 2nd amendment rights...
I just bought a mossberg .410 pump, added a Halosun dot and an indian creek choke tube. Shoot apex 9.5 tss. Patterns well, and is nice and light. Low recoil. Will also double for small game. Seems like a .410 with tss is the equivalent of .223/tmk - advances in ammo allows for "dead enough"...
I know RS loves Toyota, but you should at least take a look at the Frontiers. I have had mine for 6 months, and really like it. The Pro4X isn't as off road ready as the top Tacoma trims, but it is a solid truck. with a v6 and a proven transmission. The only downside I have so far is there is...
I lived in a dry county for a number of years. It is wet now. Next county over (with a couple of nice places to eat) is wet except for Sunday. The wet dry votes have been happening more and more, and I don't think wet has lost recently.
KY just passed medical cannabis, starting up next year...
This is now my religion with regards to hunting gear.
I shot a buck at like 10 yards with a mech head. No recovery. It might have been me, it might have been the head. But, now I shoot fixed heads with a well tuned bow, so if I shoot at something and don't recover it, I know it was my...
I just bought a couple from a guy on reddit ( ) haven't had a chance to shoot with them yet, but the quality is solid, and he gets a ton of great reviews.
I think most require that you be permanently disabled - SSI or SSDI. The opportunities may or may not really be all that great. Just depends on the state. If you are doing LTD, then I would guess SSI or SSDI is also in your future, and once you qualify, you can usually get discounted...
I went back and couldn't find the thread, but looking at it, that holds for shorter cans - S to K, but not really for L to S sized. I was likely drinking, so thanks for pointing it out. Anyway, I am psyched for my Hydrogen L, and should certify my S early next week. So, I can do a total bro...
Otter creek is the only other 6.5 bore that I have seen out there, though I am sure there are others. The ocl hydrogens score well with pew science, and with the other tests I have seen. They just did a batch of 6.5 cans, and Andrew said they don't make many of those per year, so unless you...
Not that you will find one in stock either, but if you want to maximize sound reduction with shorter cans, get a 6.5 bore. OCL owner mentioned in a reddit thread that a going to a 6.5 bore vs .30 gains about the same as a couple of inches, (edit - seems mostly for shorter cans) very roughly. I...
Check your state, and neighboring states, for a field to fork type class. Most FW departments run something like this for new hunters, and they can get you started. Some will bring in deer to dress in class and/or offer mentored hunts.
