    Annealing causing pressure increase

The whole point of annealing is to soften the neck and reduce/eliminate spring back as brass goes through its life. Both in shoulder bump and neck diameter. Example wood be, before annealing it was not uncommon for me to need to change bushing size or deal with different size necks. Same...

    FL size below .200” line?

Some premium dies like your micron, and SAC are designed to size more of the case to combat the problems that can occur Reloading tech is coming around just as rifles/equipment are. Most guys years ago didn’t load a piece of brass 10-20 times, same can be said for the number of people...

Custom rifle maker - recommendations wanted.

If you like the alpine you will like the manners eh1. Personally I wouldn’t buy another AG. And didn’t like how squared off the alpine was in the fore end.

.223 for bear, deer, elk and moose.

I’m glad ‘gunwriters’ are no longer relevant. Now if we can do the same with the YouTubers we can get some real information out there. Before everyone gets upset there are some decent video/writers out there.

Soft Padded Rifle Case for Suppressor?

Triad tactical or Armageddon gear. Us made, they make them long as well

    Annealing causing pressure increase

Just saw this as well. If you’re not measuring, annealed cases will usually size more, due to less spring back. That’s pretty much why I anneal, so I don’t have to mess with my dies.

    Annealing causing pressure increase

Usually I anneal before sizing so take this for what it’s worth. Did it feel like the case gripped the bullet more when seating? Neck tension can be more than interference fit, and after annealing especially on an amp that neck can have more grip. I usually combat this the same as I would...

    FL size below .200” line?

Looks good, I’d personally rather have a die that sizes to the base than have to deal with a tight piece of brass.

    FL size below .200” line?

Many of the premium dies size a little farther down the case. Similar to a small base die by some of the more main stream companies. It shouldn’t cause any issues and personally I see it as a benefit. Just make sure you’re applying ample lube to that area. It also could be a mix of how...

    6CM clickers

Some of the slower burning seem to be a little less sensitive to that odd hot round. I don’t have any science to back anything up though.

    6CM clickers

Your clickers are probably from the brass fire in another chamber. To break it down. Each chamber may very slightly in diameter on the body. Even though your full length sizing, every time you work brass there is spring back. The reason this works for brass fired in your gun is that even...

    6CM clickers

In alpha brass on my last barrel I’m achieving book max velocity out of 39.5 grains of h4350. Fwiw. H4350 is a bit fast for the 6 creed I feel, but works. Kind of like varget in the 6.5.

    Carbon Wrapped Barrel Pecking Order?

This is exactly how I view carbon barrels. Like wrapping whatever car analogy you want in a vinyl wrap and calling it cool.

    Neck Tension

SAC die with an expanding decapper in place. Size .003-.004 under bullet diameter, mandrel up with a .002 under bullet diameter mandrel, on the down stroke. Do do the same if I’m mandreling in a separate step. Prefer .0025-.003 neck tension. Regardless of the equipment my goal is to...

Pressure: when is too much and why?

I do after the barrel is done speeding up. So after 200 or so rounds when I have my load. I load fairly low, if I find pressure I back off a grain plus. I’ll sun soak a few and shoot on a rainy day and leave one to get wet. Usually wrecks the brass but I want to know I’m not going to be...

    6CM clickers

Probably not a tight bore from bartlein if you didn’t order it that way specifically. H4831sc can definetly be a little easier going but I havnt had issues with h4350 either. Factory ammo would just confirm that everything is normal, if you got stiff bolt or clickers with factory ammo, or...

    6CM clickers

I didn’t see it mentioned but is it possible you have a .236 bore? That would also do it. The easy way to see if it’s a you problem or a barrel problem is to spend a few bucks on some Hornady match and see what it does. Book max is going to be ~3000 fps for a 24”. Subtract 25 an inch and...

    Tikka slam fire PSA

That bolt can handle some torque, 55 inch pounds and it won’t move. I do check them when I break down rifles though. I’d bet the smith didn’t torque it.

Reloading advice: bullets? Vary for target/hunting?

I have killed big game with Barnes ttsx, and specifically the bullet talked about in this thread, the 168. I’m not giving nosler my money either.

Reloading advice: bullets? Vary for target/hunting?

If I were in your shoes, I would just shoot 178 eldm/x exclusively. I think Berger is a makes a more consistent bullet, but I’m not sure you’re going to shoot the difference in a lightweight tikka. Personally I’d skip the Barnes unless forced to shoot non lead. It’s an inefficient bullet...
