Seekins Havak Element in 28 Nosler. Rifle alone weighs 5.7 lbs and that's with two QD mounts, a sling swivel stud, detachable magazine, an impressively stiff stock, and a fairly heavy contour on the barrel. With real rings, a Leupold Mark 5 scope, and a suppressor it's just 8.7 lbs. Pretty...
I had the Razor a few years ago and sold it after one week in the field. I didn't think it was worth carrying. I had the Opticron MM3 and thought it was pretty good. I have the Kowa now and love it. I take it everywhere. The image is amazing. It weighs less than my EL 10x42s. The only cons are...
Thanks for the write up and pictures. Your opinion of the glass still as high as it was originally? Do you wish you'd gone Swaro or does the weight or lack of weight make up for the field of view?
I'd also like to hear more about what you think of the glass. You mentioned it was impressive in low light. Tell us more about that. Also, what is that you've got it mounted on in the picture?
I've seen elk and cattle grazing together regularly here in Idaho. Quite common especially on private ground. If the elk want to be there I don't think the cattle really make any difference.
May need to look into that. I don't want it crazy bright red. I just want to be able to see 20-30 feet in front of me with red light. Most of the ones I've tried have been more like 4-8 feet which is barely enough to see the ground from the top of a horse.
I need a headlamp with red LEDs and the red LEDs need to put out some lumens. On every headlamp I've tried so far the red LEDs aren't bright enough to do anything but maybe read a map that's a couple feet from your face. Also, it would be really nice if you could turn them on/off without...
Been using a Leupold Vx 6 on my kids 6.5 Grendel for over two years now and have had no problems with it tracking. My kids have all shot deer with it and we dial it for every shot. Furthest deer was 429. I've shot coyotes with it past 800 and it tracks as good as anything out there. The new...
I returned my Thermarest cot. Giant pain to set up, shoulders and hips touched the ground if I tried to sleep on my side. Butt touched if I slept on my back(6'2 230lbs). Also very noisy. I bought a Helinox cot and couldn't be happier. It's a comparable weight, more comfortable, way easier to...
They shoot very well. Pretty consistent 1/2 moa and a few groups better than that. I haven't tried anything else in 28 nosler. I used to shoot Bergers in 7wsm but they were destroying so much meat that I wanted to try a different bullet.
I ride my broke horses in a mechanical Hackamore. I ride green ones in a snaffle. My broke horses can be ridden in a halter and I have in an emergency but I have more control (better handle) with the mechanical hackamore.
