Help me with my pack weight

Give this PDF your eyeballs: https://www.mediafire.com/file/vi338xhh4695f1b/Hiker_Food_Chart_%28Na%29.pdf/file made by this youtuber: I personally strive for 125 calories an ounce average. Any higher of an average and there's too much fat for my liking. Carbs and protein are both 4...

Help me with my pack weight

There's some optimization to be found in your food. For instance your twizzlers are very calorie inefficient for their weight. Same with the Clif bars. You can repackage the Mountain House meals into freezer bags and save about 17g each, IIRC.

Which SG backpack do you use?

All SG bags are great. I chose the Solo on a Krux Frame. I'm short with a flat back. The Xcurve is the better choice for most, though. Solo is 3300ci. Hydro Lid is another 500. More than plenty for a 7 day outing if your gear is dialed in.

    10mm Pistol Choice

I'd broaden the options to .45 guns that are known to handle the slightly higher pressure of .45 Super. One of my carry pieces is a HK USP Compact in 9mm/40 (slide swap) For woods carry I'd go for the full size USP 45. Not a fan of the later HK45 finger groove grips since I have small hands --...

    Floorless or not to Floorless...

False dichotomy... You could have a floorless tent and use an inner net with a floor. Check out the MLD Duomid/Solomid for example. Personally I like floorless because then I can get in and then take off my shoes. My setup is having a Duomid and then a Solomid inner, so that I still have...

    Hello from Western Washington!

G'day, I moved from Missouri to King County about 8 months ago for my work. I sit behind a desk wailing on a keyboard all day. Until recently I only thought hunting was sitting passively waiting for baited game to come within range. Once I realized that wasn't the case I felt my eyes were...

First Lite Cipher pattern and Giveaway!

I'd love to win the vapor stormlight ultralight jacket. Living in western Washington the correct amount of rain gear to own is n+1, where n represents your current gear count. Between gear shakedown runs doing some hiking, fishing, and what will be my first season of hunting (so excited!)...

How many have got someone into hunting?

Everyone on this board has collectively gotten at least one person into hunting.... me. Growing up in Missouri I thought hunting was only sitting in a tree stand/blind waiting for baited game to come into range. Once I discovered that to not be the case I quickly found myself lurking these...

    BRS stove review

Th BPL post on the windscreen I mentioned above covers it much better than I can anytime soon: Two things to note... this guy is probably at an altitude lower than where most gram weenies will be hunting. On the other hand in my opinion running a stove at full blast and bringing it to a full...

Buy Once Cry Once Shelter... Backyard Photos.

I'm about the same size as you... would you make an argument for having a duomid over the solomid for the sake of increased space for storage and comfort? If my 2nd hand duomid deal falls through I had been looking towards a CF solomid.

    BRS stove review

Hello there, I figure for my genesis post I should provide some value (about 25 grams worth) and offer a review of the BRS stove that is much beloved by the ultralight hiking crowd. I bought mine recently and have put about 50 grams worth of gas into testing it. So far so good. Having said...
