    Sleep system recommendations

I have a Nemo Hornet 2P (which was recently on sale at rei), a Klymit insulated V Ultralite pad (R-4 rating) and an REI 20 degree bag. Been in snow storms and rain storms, weather down to the teens and I've been very comfortable. All can be found, if you look, at around that $200 price range or...

How do you prevent altitude sickness?

Like most have said, hydration and acclimation. Stay the first night at 7k-9k feet before moving up. One year, because of limited time, I went from sea level to the next night 11k feet. Big mistake, there was a noticeable difference, I wasted that first day due to headaches and fatigue anyways.

    Headlamps

My Black Diamond Storm has been reliable and lasted me for years. It also great with not burning up batteries.

    Solar Power Banks

I currently run a Renogy 15000mAh bank, which weighs about 15oz. I'm only using it to charge a cell phone. I'm looking to find a lighter one in the 20000mAh or 25000 mAh category. Any recommendation of lightweight Power Banks? Is there a noticeable difference between 15000mAh or 20000mAh...

    Nemo Hornet Elite 2p

Can't really speak on the Elite, but I believe its a lighter, updated version of the Hornet. I have the Nemo Hornet 2P, it's around 2lbs, dual entry points, and decent size vestibule to store gear. The footprint is also smaller than most 2P tents, so its easier to find flat ground to set up...

    Unit 48 Idaho

A buddy and I are heading to Unit 48 in Idaho for an archery elk hunt. Have talked to the biologist, done a lot of research online, pored over trail maps, topo maps, and Google Earth. We have a possible game plan, including back-up plans A, B, and C. Have hunted elk for a few years (first...

    New Guy From Michigan

From S/E Michigan. The wolves, coyotes and the winters have really put a hurt to the U.P. deer herd. It's not like it used to be. They put some severe restrictions with taking does last year. I have family that moved to Bozeman about 8 years ago and never looked back. You have some...

    New Guy From Michigan

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself here. I've been whitetail, turkey, duck and bear hunting in Michigan for a long time. The elk hunting bug bit me about seven years ago. This year will be my 6th hunt west for elk. I have only done DIY archery hunts, reading and researching elk, the...
