First time for elk in Idaho

Maaaan...don't tempt me like that! Lol! Yeah, my ultimate goal is to get a bow and completley switch to bowhunting. However, we decided to rifle hunt, since we already have large caliber rifles for deer. It'll be easier on the budget and we all get to hunt together. If it was just me and...

First time for elk in Idaho

Wow. Thanks alot guys! Lots of stuff to think about here. I'm definitely a noob at this, but I do my best to learn the regulations (have zero desire to take the wrong thing in the wrong place!!). I don't want to overestimate my potential (physically and knowledge wise) , would rather...

First time for elk in Idaho

Hey y'all, I'm planning on heading out in 2018 for a rifle hunt with 4 of my best friends. We haven't spent alot of time out west, just really looking to spend time in some pretty mountains and hunt elk. Not commited to shooting 300+" bulls, although that would be nice, we would be happy with...

Anybody use Moultrie Mobile to get trailcam pics?

Awesome. Thank you for the advice. Definitley will be giving that a shot come August. Haha! Yeah...I used to need to check my cameras once a week just to make sure the cards wouldn't fill up from the 3-400 pictures of branches blowing around. So, I'm also wondering if this would be a good...

Anybody use Moultrie Mobile to get trailcam pics?

Thanks! So, I noticed that they have several different price options for number of pictures sent through the modem. Which do you recommend? Also, this may just be user error, but oftentimes I get LOADS of pics of just branches waving in the wind. I'd hate to have to pay for those pictures.

Headed to the salmon zone ID

+1 to this. Gohunt compiles a ton of info in an organized fashion so you can get really specific info on areas/states you want to hunt. It makes no promises, it just supplies you with the data. I don't have any experience with Huntin' Fool, but I've heard that's a really good resource also...

Headed to the salmon zone ID

This is helpful info. I am also looking into the Selway/Bitteroot area for a fall rifle hunt next year. Country looks absolutley gorgeous. Sorry to hear not much success is being had.

Anybody use Moultrie Mobile to get trailcam pics?

I know oftentimes cell service is lacking in the woods, but in researching wireless camera options, I ran across the "Moultrie Mobile modem", which attaches to the game camera, and sends the pictures via wireless to a phone. It apparently requires a seperate cell phone plan. Just curious if...

    new guy from Alabama

Hey y'all, I'm Stephen. I currently live in central Alabama. I did not grow up hunting but it's been something I've been interested in for years. Done quite a bit of whitetail hunting the past few seasons. Found this site through the Gritty Bowmen podcast. Looong story short, I'm currently...
