Congrats on the tag, I have hunted AZ in the rut a few times, and was lucky enough to draw a rut tag again this year! What unit did you draw? Is it early rifle or an archery tag? I can tell you this, it is a whole different hunt that the late hunts, they are telling you where they are. I...

Thanks! Going to try and get in a few scouting trips it's about a 7 or 8 hr drive but it will be a fun what to pass the time until Sept!

I only have hunted in unit 55, near Rawlins, and if you can get a doe tag in that area, you will have no issue tagging a doe! Probably in any of the surrounding areas would be great. Antelope are great eating, I know I have heard otherwise, but my experience on the 6 we have tagged was they...

thanks for the welcome! I mostly hunt deer, in CA, UT, AZ with a bow, I also hunt rifle in my local mountains(San Bernardino) I hunt elk and have been luck enough to draw probably more than my fair share of tags in AZ, one in UT, and one in Nev, have hunted CO 2 times. WY and New Mex., Nev...

5-10 year plan... AZ or NV? somewhere else?

I would say AZ, I have been lucky there and drawn several tags(5) over the past 20 years, the early archery hunts are hard to beat! My son got his first elk there last year and I drew this year on a random tag. I also drew in Nevada a few years back for a Oct rifle hunt, it was a successful...
