    Thanks for the input. I want to be able to shoot at the range but I know I always extend my 6 in bipod to about 8 inches in the field. I don’t spend much time at ranges so I wasn’t sure how this will affect shooting from a bench at the range when I go there.

    FYI - if you buy a Kestrel Sportsman, you can upgrade it to the 5700 software and then pay $190 to upgrade it to elite. Probably cheaper than even finding a used version. Good luck in your search

    I've used quite a bit of Eddie Bauer gear for more controlled trips. Only thing ill bring on a mountain hunt is the microdown puffy. You can return anything if it gets banged up or torn too.
