Looks good! I recently restored this 722 for my wife. It was her grandmas and her dad passed it on to us when she showed interest in hunting with me. It’s a 722 in .300 savage. It spent many years in a swamp cooled house so the blueing was toast. I ended up doing a sanded in linseed oil finish...
Mines a beat up 07, but it makes all sorts of squeaks, rattles and pops. Keeping it clean seems to help in that regard as does turning up the stereo. Toyota never made a crew cab standard bed. If you want a school bus you get the 5.5’ bed. You’ll need to go with the extended cab to get the 6.5’...
I think your only real option is black. I’ve successfully rit dyed multicam cordura black. Use some boiling water with some salt added and the Liquid Rit dye. You could try the forest green to begin with and then go black (just remember you can’t go back) if it doesn’t look right.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. Most of my stuff is cheap harbor freight stuff. $200 compressor, $120 blast cabinet, $40 blast media. The Cerakote isn’t cheap at $60 a pint but it covers a lot. My oven is built out of a sheet metal gun safe and an over broiler element. Both were free to me, but...
I’ve been messing with Cerakote for the last year or so and decided to try my first pattern. Did a simple OD tiger stripe over a black Hydroflask. The vinyl stencils leave nice crisp lines and hold up to blasting really well. Pretty happy with the outcome.
The school bus will have a little better resale value if you’re worried about that, but the double cabs have a lot of room. I have a regular cab tundra and even it has a bunch of room behind the seats.
