I’ve never saw a gun go from .5moa to 3.5moa with just a .020 change in seating depth. I normally start load development at .010 jump testing powder charges. After I find a load with good ES and acceptable accuracy I do a seating depth test to tune in the group size.
The 338 lapua improved cartridges (338ax, terminator, etc.) will give you better brass, and a belt less cartridge if that matters to you. The Kahn is based on the 338-378. Expect with Rl33 or N570 in a 28” barrel to see 2950-3000fps in the lapua Imp and 3000-3050 with the Kahn (300gr. Berger)...
I know this is an old thread, but I’m looking at running a 30nosler in a tikka with the MT AICS bottom metal. This bottom metal will run a 3.6” COAL. I’m curious what the OAL with the 215 at .020 jump in a saami rspec chamber would be? I’m torn between a long throated 300wsm or 30nosler.
I’ve got a Clark 460 conversion and also a glock G40, and G29. While I enjoy all of them, the G40 is what I strap on my side when I feel a need for reliable protection. I load hard cast 200gr. Bullets with a .320 meplat at 1300fps.
The glock has never failed to cycle anything I have fed...
